Athena Jahantigh is a French artist of Iranian origin who obtained a Master's Degree in Obtained Arts in Iran before enrolling to study Arts and the Science of Art at the Panthéon University Sorbonne, where she secured a Doctorate in Fine Arts. Her sculpted works are inspired by a blend of primitive parietal art sources and Persian artwork that depicts the natural world. Jahantigh's work in sculpture; animals appear modern owing to their simplified histories and disregarded sexual attributes, demonstrating that they fit precisely into an array of origins and contemporary society that is no longer considered as wildlife.

Jahantigh's artwork can take the person back to a time when imagery was a cultural heritage, and they were prompted by her sentimental connection with Iran. Nicole Crestou pointed out that her larger-scaled, more recent fragments are made of sandstone or porcelain, and that the animal's skeletal motion is amplified by applying plates cut into strips to the legs and upwards.
"We adore contemporary works of art, and with our modest endeavors at Maison Sia, we are intent on introducing exemplary modern artists and their creations to India for the delight of the public. Athena Jahantigh is one such artist, and her work, which draws sentimental and nostalgic influences from her Persian heritage, seemed like it demanded the spotlight and we gave it.”
