Lifestyle sculpture by Korean artist Byun DaeYong is a contemporary sculptor from South Korea. With his hallmark motif of animals, particularly polar bears and icecream, Byu becomes a visual poet. His compositions are purposeful - the soft pastel colour schemes and arguably adorable subject matter seemingly reenact scenes from a preschool storybook; animatedly coming to life.Through his playful imagery and benevolent oeuvre, Byu gently coaxes us into re-addressing issues of global warming and environmental destruction, delicately touching on discussions about our humanity in a consumer-driven cityscape, and ultimately reminding us of our role as caretakers of our planet.
